The Mighty Van Halen

Van Halen II came out March 23, 1979 (which was a Friday < strange) — but this Fresno show (Sunday 3/25) Dave says "The new album came out today…" Not sure which is right or wrong here.

To add to the discussion, bands released their “albums” on Fridays back in the day. It was because the record companies knew people got paid on…Fridays! So, you had the chance to hear it all weekend long and not be interupted by that crappy thing we call…WORK! Parties were abound with new albums from scores of different artists, bands and groups; that was just the way it was.

The Mighty Van Halen

ah nice. I remember album releases on Tuesdays at least starting in mid-80’s. thanks.

InternetSavage

And I was there.

The Mighty Van Halen

Oh man. Sweet!

InternetSavage

Oh man I gotta come clean, I wasn’t really there. Was wondering if anyone was paying attention and would call me out on my BS. I would give anything though to go back and see some of these shows.

The Mighty Van Halen

Haha. Yes a time machine would be a great thing for VH shows.

InternetSavage

Holy crap man I gotta say this is a great bootleg, never thought I’d get to hear one this good from this era. Glad to see more stuff has surfaced since I collected.

The Mighty Van Halen

Sweet that one is pretty good. Also 4/18/1979 Vancouver is pretty great quality.

InternetSavage

Will do. BTW, great site you’ve put together here.

Great show, being from Oregon I got a kick out of when they said Vancouver, BC was a lot louder than the crowd in Oregon the night before. They were referring to the famous Jantzen Beach Ice Arena shows I heard about growing up, well at least they were famous around here before they tore that old place down.

Mike Skillings

Do you have stuff from Portland Maine shows and from 2007-2015

The Mighty Van Halen

I don’t have any from Maine

Mike Skillings

What about 2007-2008 and 2013

Mike Skillings

What about Reuion tour 07-08 and 2012-2013
